In the 2nd half of the 3rd century, Ancyra was invaded in quick succession with the Goths coming from your west (who rode far into the heart of Cappadocia, having slaves and pillaging) and later on by the Arabs. For about ten years, the town was among the list of western outposts of one of Palmyrean empress Zenobia from the Syrian Desert, who took
